How To Do Keyword Research

In this article, I’ll show you how to do keyword research in 2021. Read on…

But first, what is keyword research?

Keyword research is the process of finding what people are searching for on Google and other search engines, related to a term/phrase/topic of interest.

As you might already know, we all use search engines like Google to search for things/topics that we need information for.

When we search on Google, it records the search terms/phrases and keeps it in it’s database.

This data is then shared with or bought by companies, who make it available for anyone who wants to find them.

For example, if you searched Google for “Red Apples”, Google saves this search in it’s database.

This data, is then made available to public via tools like SEMrush, AdWords etc.

Using these tools, anyone can figure out how many people searched on Google for “Red Apples” in a certain time frame.

How to do keyword research?

You can find out what people are searching for on Google, by using tools like SEMrush and AdWords.

Steps to do keyword research

In SEMrush, go to “Keyword Magic Tool”, and type in a “seed keyword”.

Seed Keyword = A basic topic/keyword for which you think people might be searching for on Google.

Now, SEMrush will find you all the searches, people have made on Google related to that keyword or phrase.

For example, if you enter “Apples” as the seed keyword, then SEMrush will show you all the related search terms like “Red Apples”, “Green Apples” etc with an average estimated number of searches for each keyword, according to it’s database.
